These characters are such a blast with their quirky little eccentricities; I find them way more appealing than total perfection. Beth is a funky rocker chick with an obsession for vintage tees, whereas Ryan, who definitely sports a killer body, also has a heart that has been thoroughly shredded. If you enjoy some seriously spine tingling sex scenes you are going to love this series! Book one is fantastic, and book two is just as sizzling.

I very much enjoyed Taking Over Me, the first book in the Geek Kink series by Sara Brookes, so I was eager to read this next one. Rock Your Soul tells the story of a different pair of characters from the first book. Though the others appear in this novel, the focus is Ryan and Beth.
Beth's new in town. Her past is littered with trouble, not least a sadistic Dom who scarred her both inside and out. She moves to Gatlin Falls for a fresh start with a new job, and hopefully a new Dom. She has worked hard to move on from her past and now feels ready to submit to someone else -- but it has to be someone she knows won't treat her badly. Fortunately, Ryan comes highly recommended by a mutual friend, so she decides to meet him and see what happens.
Ryan's past isn't exactly happy, either, so when Beth turns up on his doorstep, his first instinct is to run a mile. But when he sees how much she needs him to help her get over what happened to her, he decides to help out. After all, it's time for him to start living again, too. Their arrangement ends up surprising them both.
Rock Your Soul is another excellent book. It's erotic romance with BDSM, ménage and some suspense thrown in there, too. It's well-written, engaging, exciting and, of course, very hot! I love the well-rounded characters and their quirks, and I look forward to seeing which Gatlin Falls characters Brookes writes about next. Recommended.
I love, love, LOVE this book! Oh my gosh wow, Rock Your Soul is not what I expected. It is so much BETTER. I was hooked from the first page. I thought with the series called Geek Kink I was going to be reading a nerdy BDSM story. Instead what I got was a sweet erotic story filled with fantastic characters. The secondary characters are a welcome addition to the story line. I found myself so lost in the story that I was caught complete unaware when a sinister aspect reared it ugly head. Sorry, I can't say anymore with giving a spoiler away.
Ryan and Beth are to beautiful souls each damaged and tortured from their pasts. The fact that Beth is still wanting to be in the lifestyle after suffering at the hands of torturous Dom, speaks volumes of her strength. Ryan is just the perfect caring Dom. The care he puts into helping Beth is so touching and beautiful. Despite all this caring for each other there is also the sexual aspect. And oh yes, they sex is explosive. From their first interaction as a D/S you know these two people are made for each other.
Author Sara Brookes has done a outstanding job creating this wonderful series. I haven't read the first book but have every intent of starting the series from the beginning. Now the tortuous wait for the next book has begun. Rock Your Soul is most definitely a book worth reading.

What do you get when you mix a geek radio disc jockey and a grumpy woodworking recluse? Smoking hot chemistry and fun times involving rope of course!
From the first page, I loved Beth in her old school muscle car as she took matters into her own hands and tried to take back her life. Most people who had lived through a nightmare of a Dom like she had would have given up. The fact that she strut her stilettos into another Dom's sanctuary told me this girl had to be not only brave, but ballsy too. Next chapter in and I find out she has a vintage t-shirt collection that made me drool and I wanted to be her friend. By this point I was rooting for her.
Then there is Ryan; sweet, grumpy Ryan. He comes home to build boats after having tragedy strike and leads a quiet life. Of course until hurricane Beth comes into his life and basically knocks him on his butt. Admiring her spunk and disgusted by her previous experience with a Dom, Ryan decides to help her not knowing that mending her would also mend him.
I adored this couple from page one. The chemistry literally lights the page and they play off one another beautifully. There is one scene when they first meet that had me thinking HOLY SPACEBALLS when I thought it was going a certain direction. Needless to say I didn't put the book down after that. The secondary characters were great leading me to look forward to the next book in the series. This is book two and I was able to pick this up without having read the first, even though I will be going back to read it. Sara Brookes did an awesome job with this book about love, healing, kinkery and geeks all rolled into one.
